Southwest and Mexican jewelry reflects the tradition and craftsmanship unique to their areas, with centuries of techniques passed on through the generations, and many still used today. Much of the Southwest’s silver jewelry is still handmade, preserving the authenticity of Southwest and Mexican sterling silver.
Unknown origin, but I am attributing this to a Southwest design sterling piece.
Heavy sterling silver fish brooch with an oval petrified wood body and faceted garnet and amethyst accent stones.
The brooch measures 2.5" long and 1.25" wide.
The petrified wood center is 2" long and the gemstones are approximately 5mm.
15.7 grams total weight.
Tarnish to the silver and a crack in the petrified wood near the tail.
